Story of Stuff:
I believe that the story of stuff had very many very good points: We are slowly running out of resources and killing our planet. They also said how our goal in life is to consume, and to become a consumer. Another point that I found very interesting was how certain products were designed to break after a few years.
I found it crazy how 99% of what we buy is discarded withing 6 months. Its insane how we don't even realize how much waste we are producing, not including the waste to make it, and the pollution that is put into the environment. I feel like the message that is portrayed in this video is something that needs to have more awareness worldwide.
After Critique:
I thought the critique had a few good points but in total a lot of the video he didn't even give a point against the argument he simply put in an air horn noise, or my favorite at the end, played the Russian anthem or something so loud you couldn't hear what she was saying. I think he did show a few holes in the video I.E. how we are replanting our trees as fast as we are cutting them down. The critique did show minor problems with the original video, but those could just be adjusted again to make the point just as relevant. I think while the critique showed to question what you watch, it wasn't compelling enough to change my point of view on the subject.
